Hi subscribers,

I’ve been hard at work lately on this next book (sound familiar?? ha).

Meanwhile, I wanted to tell you about a little project I’ve done this winter that’s brought me some joy.

I’ve been watching a lot of romcoms these last few years (for reasons) and rewatching Amélie some months ago, I became low-key obsessed with her windowsill herb garden:

How cute is that! And useful!

Inspired, I threw some seeds into some pots and started trying to grow one myself. Progress was slow at first…

I battled little gnats. I also battled my cats, who unlike Amélie’s charming cat would periodically rip my seedlings out by the root and toss them around the kitchen. When it was warm enough, I moved the herbs to the safety of the front porch:

Nowadays things seem to be coming along nicely…

Definitely not yet Amélie but it’s sorta something? A garnish or two perhaps? LOL.
